A life shaped by Hawaii
Tim Nguyen is an Oahu-based artist whose oil and lacquer paintings celebrate people, family, culture, tropical landscapes, and everyday island life.
After moving to Hawaii from Los Angeles, Tim's path into full-time painting grew through showing and selling his work in Honolulu, including the city's long-running Zoo Fence art tradition. The response from early collectors helped turn painting from a passion into his life's work.
His work has since reached collectors and exhibitions in Hawaii and abroad. Tim also maintains a strong connection to Vietnam, where he has worked with lacquer painting and production in addition to his oil painting practice in Hawaii.
